The members of the wizarding world will attempt for years to come up with the right term for the atmosphere that has overtaken us in the aftermath oth the Potters being murdered. The Daily Prophet, as always, attempted to sugar coat it by saying that there was an accident. They seemed to think that the masses are naïve enough to believe that unavoidable circumstances had led to the demise of the most famed Wizard of our time. Imagine the upset when the truth leaked out. Hermione Granger made sure the world knew that the Potters were murdered in cold blood in their home in Godric Hollow in the dead of night. None were spared, parents and children were slaughtered and no one was the wiser to who had done it or why. Although I’m sure everyone has their own opinions and everyone has a motive…
Since the death of ‘The Boy Who Lived’ our world has been turned on it’s head. Everyone seems to have lost their mind. Some say that it’s the apocalypse, some say that he was just another man and we should go on with our life, and still others say that we should be wary because this is how it started the last time. Unfortunately for us, those are the people who we should be listening to as daft and insane as they may present themselves. Rumors of a new Dark Lord have been surfacing. As always no one really wants to believe it, no one wants to admit that our world is about to enter into dark times again, but it’s hard to deny it. Muggles have been found murdered inexplicably, natural disasters where there should be none, and all around uneasiness…
We might be too late. This new dark force it seems has already made it to those who were once the nearest and dearest to Harry Potter himself. As we all know it was Potter who, not just over seventeen years ago fought to clear the name of Draco Malfoy although the law was trying to condemn him for his affiliation with He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Who knows what his reasons were but all we know is he succeeded and the slimey serpent that is Draco Malfoy was allowed to enter back into society, his son allowed to attend Hogwarts when the time came. Understandably now that Potter is gone all wands were pointing towards Malfoy as a suspect. But wonders of wonders none other than Ronald Weasley stepped in and assured inquiring minds that there was no reason to suspect the Malfoy’s of having involvement. This cleared the way for Malfoy senior to go ahead and accept the position he had been offered as Headmaster at our beloved School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
The plot thickens. School hasn’t even started yet, but the owl expressways have been traffic jammed, fireplaces ablaze from people Flooing to and fro in need of emergency meetings. Not twenty four hours before the newly administrated School was to begin classes did the Dark Mark appear in the sky above the school sending another wave of panic and chill of doom across our nation. Are we too late? Has the School been taken over? Will a new Dark Lord rise? And why is it that Ron Weasley is sticking up for his arch nemesis? Has he been brainwashed? Or is it that he knows who is truly to blame in the murder of his best friend? Don’t be shy Ronnie, it’s time to fess up before the same thing happens to your family. But then again it’s possible you’re just a little too late.
A little birdie told me that two brave little red heads are determined to stick it to whoever it was that killed the Potters. That couldn’t be who I think it is could it? Do we have another Dumbledore’s Army on our hands? (Ironically this time the name Potter’s Army may just be appropriate….). Only time will tell. One thing is for sure. Does everyone remember those lovely little groups that always used to butt heads and call themselves the Order of the Phoenix and the Death Eaters? Well my sources tell me that the airways have shown activity of groups resembling both. Are we looking at another war? Is there anything we can do to stop it? Are we too late? Only time will tell.
